Higher stakes. When a customer contacts support with a simple query and gets a mediocre response, the cost is low. Preparing agents for the post-AI interaction environment requires a fundamentally different approach. Agents need scenario-based practice with emotional range, real-time performance feedback, consistency over intensity, and objective measurement they can actually act on.
"Your empathy score has been averaging 58 out of 100 across your last 15 sessions, compared to a team average of 71" is something an agent can work with. "You need to be more empathetic" is not.
The Opportunity Inside the Problem
The AI filtration effect does not just make the human agent's job harder. It also makes the human agent's role more important. The interactions that reach humans are the ones that matter most to customers. They are the moments that define whether a customer stays or leaves, whether they tell their friends or leave a review.
